Honestly, i am not much into nightlife. However, i have been to some of these places.

BARS

There is one thing you should know that there is no 100% gay bar, disco in Saigon or Viet Nam. All of them are mixed or have a certain nights where lots of gays hang out.

1. Q bar, 7 Lam Son Square, Dist.1 (beside Opera House). In my opinion, it is a mixed cool bar with many expats and rich young boys and girls. Modern design with good music.

2. Dong Phuong bar, 22 Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Dist.3.It is not right in the center. Here you are invited to go to the stage and sing like a singer.

3. Eden bar, 236 De Tham, Dist 1.

4. Lush, 2 Ly Tu Trong, Dist.1. They serve very good food. I loved it. Music is not bad. This bar is one of the newest ones in town.

5. Samsara, 2/F 131 Dong Khoi, Dist.1. This bar is special because waiters are recruited carefully. They have to be athletic or have defined body and tall and more important is cute and straight acting. They often wear different uniforms follow a certain theme. Wanna meet cute guys in town ? Then go to Samsara on Friday nights.

DISCOS

1. Apocalypse now, 2B-2C Thi Sach, Dist.1. Very popular one for straight and gay. Sroll down at the bottom of the page to see video clips about this disco.

2. Ben Thanh, 3/F Orient Club, 6 Mac Dinh Chi, Dist.1. Gay night is on Monday. At the end of the night, they will turn off the music. Many chances for you to touch someone in the crowd (lol)

3. Palace Club, 2/F Palace Hotel, 56-66 Nguyen Hue, Dist.1. Newest disco in town, unluckily, never been there so you have to figure out by yourself.

4. America Club, 4/F Windsor Plaza Hotel, 18 An Duong Vuong, Dist.5. Quite far from the center but people dont mind if it is a good place. Check it out !

SAUNAS

I myself have never been to these places. Therefore, can not distribute any comments.

1. Toan Thang Sauna, 126 Thanh Thai, Dist.10

2. Golden Smile Club, 656 Su Van Hanh, Dist.10. Very popular now in Saigon because it targets to gay but this place is far from city center.

3. Ho Chi Minh Blind Association, 185 Cong Quynh, Dist.1

4. Vat Ly Tri Lieu (Physiotherapy), 70 Ba Huyen Thanh Quan, Dist.3

MASSAGE & SPAS

Gay Friendly Hotels and Discount Hotels in downtown

1. Spring Hotel, 44 Le Thanh Ton, Dist.1,(848)8297362
I have been at this hotel many times. It is cosy and gay friendly. However, you are not allowed to have guest in your room after 2200 because this is the law in Viet Nam for all hotels, especially from 3 stars to 5 stars. Spring hotel is 3 star. Smaller hotels can pass this law but they could have problem with police if they check at night.

2. Indochine Hotel,40-42 Hai Ba Trung, Dist. 1,(848) 8220082
Some of gay travelers also stay at this hotel which is not far from city landmarks. I have passed by this hotel several times. It looks nice but my favorite one is still Spring Hotel.

Guesthouse for gay backpackers in Pham Ngu Lao area

Welcome to Ho Chi Minh city (Saigon)

I am Jaimie,of course, gay and i know that in Viet Nam is not much open about gay like in Thailand.However, i can help you to find some gay friendly guesthouses that you can stay and bring back your friends. I am sure the owners of these guesthouses will accept in daytime but not sure if it is ok for late at night but mostly there is no problem in many of small hotels or guesthouses as long as your friend has ID card with him. Now, let's find out which ones.

1. Eden Guesthouse, 236 De Tham St, Dist. 1 (Pham Ngu Lao area), (848)8368154. As i know, this is a bar but has some rooms for rent upstairs. This bar is mixed but the manager is gay.Name of this bar is also Eden, one of the bars in the city closes latest after midnight. Sorry, i dont know room rate but you are in backpacker area thus it is not expensive.

2. Hong Kong Mini Hotel, 22 Bui Vien, Dist.1, (848)8364904. I have never been here but some people i know who are gay stayed here during there trips so i am quite sure it is gay friendly.

3. Guesthouse 97, 97 Bui Vien, Dist.1,(848)8368801
Bui Vien is one of the streets in Pham Ngu Lao area. Not sure if the owner is gay but it is gay friendly however the receptionists seem not be friendly.One guy i know said that if your friend comes over at night, the receptionist will require you to pay some extra fee for your friend stays overnight.
